The Lamoille Valley Railroad

Originally the Portland to Ogdensburg Railroad built to connect the Atlantic Ocean at Portland Maine with the Great Lakes at Ogdensburg ,NY via the Saint Lawrence river it eventually became known as the LVRR and the rail trail continues to this day as a recreational trail.

The train depot and right of way helped to  Divide the village into east and west. The only remaining remnants of this bygone era is the railbed.
