Holmes Sawmill

This mill, which produced millions of feet of lumber over nearly 60 years of operation, burned in 1927. Located on the west side of Black Creek, the mill was one of several that drew power from the low dam across this fall line. Elements of the aqueduct remain visible below the present concrete bridge. The large carriage shop, opened in 1853,  is visible behind the mill.
