Sheldon Old Home Days 2016

After meticulous planning by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Sheldon Historical Society executed a magnificent Sheldon Old Home Days celebration on July 16, 2016. Local individuals, organizations, and businesses marched along a mile of parade route displaying antique cars and tractors, historically significant floats, bands, and marching units.

The crowd of over 500 adjourned to the Sheldon Woods festivities arena to enjoy a chicken barbeque, live entertainment, displays of historical interest, and to enjoy community fellowship. All present enjoyed the day.

Our thanks go out to countless individuals whose dedication fostered this important community event.

In a short five year period of time the prefered method of documentation went from taking digital photos to taking video.
Note: All online video is on You Tube and requires Adobe Flash to view.
You are able to witness the event in two parts:

The First is the opening performance by Leah.
The Second is the parade from ground level.

Local media played an important part in our event.

The County Courier submitted an aerial view of the parade taken by a camera on a drone and posted on You Tube.
The Burlington Free Press featured the Sheldon Historical Society in print and on the web.
The St Albans Messenger sent a reporter to the event and published a print article which was also on line.
