Rice Hill Cemetery - Sheldon, VT also called Sheldon Union Cemetery

Located on a nice partially wooded site opposite the Rice Hill United Methodist Church, it remains well kept. According to "Find A Grave" there are 369 grave sites here. On a recent visit we photographed only a few. The list on Find A Grave" reads like a family history of many well known families in Sheldon history. Among those buried here are an Abraham Shaw and his wife Mary E Doolin Shaw and their infant son James Shaw who was born and died in 1874. Near by is an area known and marked as "Shawville" with no known origin for the naming. Perhaps this is it.
