The Sheldon Historical Museum Progress

Originally the W.C.Marsh's Store stood on this site and burned down in the fire of 1932 which also destroyed adjacent buildings and the two span covered bridge.

The foundation remained and the current building occupies that site.

At the Sheldon Town Meeting in March 2016 the town residents voted to approve the purhcase of this property.

It represented a purchase on behalf of the Sheldon Historical Society to be transformed into an historical museum

Before Any Work Began - The Exterior & Interior Left Much To Be Desired
During most of 2016 from the March meeting until December the legal procedures occupied the time of the Executive Committee, the Select Board and the lawyers. It was not until the Spring of 2017 that actual labor increased.
